Onshore spoolable RTP (API Spec 15S frame) is for buyers who need long continuous lengths, fewer field joints, and corrosion resistance on gathering, injection, or utility corridors. Dongying IFGS manufactures flexible composite / RTP systems and publishes RFQ-ready product pages plus field case content — with an honest scope: spoolable reinforced plastic line pipe and related fittings, not classic unbonded steel-armor offshore flexible pipe.
This page is an application hub. Use it to decide whether reel-based RTP fits your route, map to product and fitting pages, and assemble a logistics-aware RFQ. For rigid GRE stick pipe and well tubulars, see Oil & Gas. For produced-water and injection duties specifically, see Produced Water & Injection. For shallow-water flexible composite flowline/riser, see Shallow-Water Flexible Composite or Offshore GRE Pipe.
When onshore spoolable RTP is the right conversation
Buyers search “API 15S RTP,” “spoolable composite pipe,” or “flexible composite transmission” for several intents. Clarifying yours avoids quoting the wrong family:
- Multi-kilometer onshore corridors — gathering, injection, or utility routes where stick-pipe joint count dominates cost, leak risk, and schedule.
- Corrosive produced fluids or water — services that drive steel coating, inhibition, and replacement cost; RTP is evaluated when fluid chemistry and temperature fit thermoplastic/composite construction.
- Sites that can handle reel logistics — crane capacity, bend radius, pull loads, ROW access, and stringing sequence must be realistic before RTP is selected on price alone.
- Fewer field joints — continuous reel lengths reduce adhesive, welded, or threaded joint count versus stick GRE or steel (project-specific joint plan still required at ends, branches, and valve stations).
IFGS addresses these RFQ classes from a single manufacturing base in Dongying, Shandong. We compete on application fit, standards honesty, and RFQ clarity — not on claiming a global multi-factory footprint.
Typical duties we map
- Onshore oil and gas gathering and transfer lines where spoolable construction is accepted
- Produced-water and water-injection surface corridors (see also the dedicated injection hub)
- High-pressure flexible composite transmission where SY/T 6662.2 / project docs apply
- Utility and selected multiphase surface lines within published pressure/temperature envelopes
- Shore-approach style continuous runs when marine exposure is separately confirmed (not automatic offshore riser substitution)
Why RTP vs stick GRE or steel
Selection is duty- and logistics-driven, not a slogan:
- Install speed and joint count — long reels can reduce field joint density versus stick pipe on long ROWs; verify against fittings, branches, and road crossings.
- Corrosion resistance — thermoplastic liners and composite reinforcement are considered for saline water and corrosive produced fluids when chemistry supports them.
- Flexibility and terrain — spoolable pipe can follow ROW curves within published minimum bend radius; it is not a substitute for engineered expansion loops without analysis.
- Life-cycle — fewer corrosion-driven replacements when pressure class, temperature, and fittings match the duty.
RTP is not automatically better for every onshore line. Short runs where stick GRE joint cost is low, fire-rated plant piping that locks steel or GRE stick, high-abrasion slurry, temperatures outside product ratings, and FEED documents that lock API 17J unbonded steel-armor flexible only are honest reasons to choose another family. We will confirm fit or decline in technical review.
Products & proof points
Map the duty to a product page, then RFQ. Links below point to live pages on www.ifgs.com:
- Onshore API 15S RTP pipe — spoolable RTP product page with field install gallery context.
- Flexible composite pipe for high-pressure transmission — factory practice aligned to SY/T 6662.2 / project documents.
- Fittings: flanged fitting for flexible composite pipe, midline fitting, general RTP / flexible composite fittings.
- Field case reference: 6″ · 1500 psi · 85°C · 10 km · Iraq south oilfield · 2025 — use as a real install narrative, not as a universal performance guarantee for every RFQ.

Not the same as API 17J (and not the same as 15HR/15LR)
Spoolable RTP / flexible composite for onshore or shallow bonded construction is not classic unbonded steel-armor API Spec 17J offshore flexible pipe. If your FEED locks 17J only, say so early — we will not quote as if we were that OEM class.
Separately: API Spec 15S ≠ API Spec 15HR ≠ API Spec 15LR. 15S addresses spoolable reinforced plastic line pipe. 15HR and 15LR address rigid glass-reinforced epoxy line pipe categories. Do not put “15S” on a rigid GRE stick-pipe PO, and do not use “15HR/15LR” as a label for reel-based RTP. Naming a Spec on an RFQ does not equal Monogram verification unless contracted and documented.
Operating conditions checklist (qualify the RFQ)
Before asking for a price, lock the duty and the logistics. Incomplete RFQs delay engineering and produce non-comparable quotes:
- Medium / fluid — crude, multiphase, produced water, injection water, gas, chemicals; note H2S, CO2, chlorides, solids, oxygen, oil-in-water if known.
- Design and operating pressure (P) — with units; include surge or shut-in cases.
- Temperature (T) — continuous range and excursions.
- Size / OD / ID — NPS or millimetres; total length and preferred reel lengths.
- Joint / end connection — flanged, midline, RTJ or project end fitting; branch and valve-station plan.
- Standards frame — API Spec 15S for spoolable RTP; SY/T 6662.2 / project specs for flexible composite transmission. Do not conflate with 15HR/15LR or assume API 17J type approval.
- Route & logistics — burial vs aboveground, minimum bend radius constraints, crane/pull equipment, traffic loads, road crossings, destination country.
- Quantity / length — metres or feet, number of reels, spare fittings.
A request that includes application + medium + at least two of P/T/size, plus length order-of-magnitude, logistics notes, and destination, is a qualified inquiry. “Cheapest 15S RTP” with no route or pressure data is not.
Standards honesty (read before naming a Spec on the PO)
- API Spec 15S — spoolable reinforced plastic line pipe; the primary buyer frame for onshore RTP conversations on this hub.
- API Spec 15HR / 15LR — rigid GRE line pipe categories; different family. Use them on stick GRE RFQs, not as synonyms for RTP.
- SY/T 6662.2 — common factory reference for flexible composite high-pressure transmission pipe in our Dongying practice.
- API 17J / 17K / DNV RP — treated as comparison or project requirements for flexible pipe. They are not automatic type approval for IFGS products unless a named third-party scope is contracted.
Published trust marks on IFGS contact/trust content include ISO 9001, API 15HR, and API 15LR. Do not assume additional logos or certificates on this page. We do not rebrand competitor trademark product lines as IFGS brands.
What we need for a technical review
Send the following to start engineering and logistics screening:
- Application narrative (gathering, injection, utility, shore approach, etc.).
- Fluid composition and any water or gas analysis available.
- Design / operating pressure and temperature, including surge and cycling.
- OD/ID, total length, preferred reel lengths, and fitting count estimate.
- Preferred end / midline fittings and buyer-named standard edition (15S vs project spec).
- ROW notes: burial, bend radius limits, crane/pull plan, road crossings.
- Destination country and target timing; photos of the route if available.
Scope boundary (Dongying IFGS)
IFGS is a Dongying GRE / FRP / RTP / flexible-composite manufacturer. We do not market a worldwide factory footprint. Onshore spoolable RTP on this hub is not deepwater unbonded steel-armor flexible pipe. If your FEED locks API 17J only, or locks rigid GRE stick pipe only, state that clearly — we will confirm the correct product family or decline before quoting the wrong one.
Next step — request a quote
Ready for review? Contact IFGS with the checklist above, or use the site quote path. Pair this hub with the product page that matches your duty so sales and engineering share one intent URL. One keyword → one page; this page’s intent is onshore spoolable RTP / API Spec 15S–class flexible composite.
